I was going through my bookshelf last night, and I totally forgot I had this book. Whether you believe it or not, the idea of Legos depicting Biblical scenes is amusing because the Bible isn’t really PG. So you see a lot of death, war, and plague. Also, the guy that made this is a genius when he builds this stuff.
Going through the book last night, my wife and I discovered that the hard copy is actually censored when compared to the original source material, the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . For example, Lot and his daughters are pretty tame in the book, on the site, it’s a bad as you can imagine.
Anyways, I’m not sure of the original intent of the guy that made this stuff (was it for amusement or was he serious, I’ve heard it both ways), but it’s amusing how he created/built everything and how he used the pieces to depict the scenes. It definitely took time and dedication though,
Leaving the Ark. I just find it humorous seeing all those skeletons, just lying around...
I love how he created the animals; for example, this donkey. It’s just too cool to me.
The walls of Jericho falling down.
Oh no! Poor donkey!
Abel kiilling a sheep for a sacrifice. They use A LOT of red translucent pieces throughout the book.
I used some of the more tame images, :). Anyways, that is all.

Awesome! I'd imagine a lot of the New Testament would be a guy sitting in prison, writing letters. Not quite as visually stunning. The photography (bokeh, lighting, etc) seems just as crucial as the building of the pieces themselves. That's some dedication.

There is a NT book, I just don’t have it. On the link above, they show some of the NT stuff. During the Good Samaritan parable, they actually stepped into the story showing what was happening. Also, I love the depiction of the Good Samaritan, massive Afro and a awesome, manly mustache, :).
And I’m convinced the guy Jesus is telling the story to has a Emporer Palpatine head, lol.

I know, right? I was hoping for a Sampson with bloody eyes, but they put a band around his head, lol. :)

My son is a Lego freak and loves Bible stories...this is totally going on my shopping list. They apparently have a less graphic version for kids, too. Thanks!

Haha, definitely get a kids version if they have it! My wife refuses to let our daughter to look at this one, lol.

My GF showed me this a while back, it’s so hilarious and well done! And everything is very accurate to the Bible, which is scary/very funny.

It’s pretty accurate, too. Some people make a fuss about the Bible being difficult to read. The Bible is a cake walk when compared to some others, like the Book of Enoch; which is apocrypha written in old English. I still have to finish that one, because it’s an interesting piece of history but it is SO dry.

Plus there are sometimes curious Easter eggs in the background, like when both of Lot’s daughters are pregnant, you see him in the background drinking alcohol. At that point, I would too.

Books like Judges have so much badassery; people don’t seem to realize how much awesomeness is in the Bible. Hollywood is really missing out by not digging into the Word and bringing these stories to life. It’s okay if they take a few liberties. In fact, I wouldn’t mind a 300 -like spin on a Sampson movie.
I can’t help but chuckle when I see a Precious Moments Bible. Have they even read what’s inside? That’s R-rated stuff!

Exactly, like Ehud in Judges. That’s a hardcore story if I ever heard of one. And it’s vague enough that you can add your own stuff into it.

That might be a tough one for the writer. How do you convey to the audience that there was a time when the bouncer would totally overlook one side of your body? It’s a key point in the story, and I think they would have to drop the whole left-right aspect and just make him good at smuggling or something.
Mike Myers’ Fat Bastard would make a great King Eglon, though.

Distracted bodyguard? Or a bodyguard who psycho analyzes Ehud, thinking right handed, blade on right side? :)

Actually, now that I think about it, why not make the whole thing a comedy, with kind of a Nacho Libre vibe to it? Have Ehud’s friends tease him in the beginning about not being right-handed, because pffff- c’mon, NObody uses their left hand. The disappearing sword... and the embarrassing wait at the end... there’s no need for the story to be a drama.
